Which was fantastic I got to see the sea, millions of random hills, and the Eden project.
I'm now at home feeling miserable, mainly because I discovered whilst at the Eden project that I have to find a new housemate for this year at some point over the next three weeks. In my head this seems a little excessive seeing as I could just buy a pad of paper for £1 which would probably last me most of the term. However experience has taught me that I will never be organised enough to file sheets at the end of every day and will therefore have to spend the first two days of revision over Christmas re-organising my notes.
It's not fun at this point to discover that you are missing lectures.
Hence my need to spend nearly £10 type='text'>Back To Uni...

I'm going back to Uni in three weeks, I'm living with alot of people who I barely know and then I have to start my Masters year when most of my friends have graduated. I know this seems like a stupid moan but why is this worrying me so much?
I'm continuing the same course (I'm doing a Masters degree) and I do know, and have worked with, most of the people who are doing the fourth year. It's just worrying me that most of my close friends have left. It'll probably be ok. It's not as bad as my friends who are all starting new jobs in a completely new situation with new people. I think I'm just worrying too much.
In other news I've been working this week which is the soul reason that there haven't been any posts till now, a feeble excuse I know. I must do better.
Yesterday was fun though I got to make flourescent pink fudge (and give myself florescent pink hands, bloody food dye). I went to my local garden centre to have a nosy around, and found myself at the pets corner. My attention was drawn to a mother and daughter crouched by one of the runs who were talking about rats. Most pet shops I know don't tend to keep rats in large runs but in those plastic box things like aquariums, that they aren't supposed to be able to chew their way out of. The conversation went something like this:

"Look Rachel, over here see these are the rats."

Small girl looks in the hutch in the corner.
"No Mummy, they're guinea pigs look at their ears"

"Don't be silly of course they're rats"

"No they aren't! That one doesn't have a tail!"

I was edging nearer at this point attempting to see the "Rat" in question.

"Well maybe it fell off then."

"The tails can't just fall off, it's a guinea pig!"

Unfortunately I couldn't get a good enough view into the pen to see the animal in question, by now the family was pressed so close to the pen in a better attempt to see that they completely blocked my viewpoint.

"How do you know, you've never seen a rat, its a rat. Now lets go and get some ice cream."

Having successfully distracted the little girl from the mysterious animal in question the family wandered off, leving me free to sidle up to the pen and take a look for myself. I'm no expert on animals but if it was a rat it was a damn big one!

It's the teachers I feel sorry for...

Saturday Night Fever

I'm sat watching Saturday Night Fever, think I'm suffering from Friday Night Fever at the minute. It's later than it should be but I don't feel tired anymore. It's weird, I always do stuff on Friday nights and then I come back here and don't do anything. Guess this year is going to be different though.

Went out today complete with new DSLR, took stupid numbers of pictures of random hills, sheep and cows but my ones of flowers are still the best, I need to get my good book back from uni and attempt to learn how to take better pictures. At least digital gives me the chance to improve somewhat, and I can correct the ones that are out of focus!
Can't wait until it's a clear night again, especially now I've got my Haig mount going!

Question of the day: Why does my new lens not focus on infinity at a normal place, The lens' for my old OM10 all used to just focus on infinity at the end of their focussing range but the new one seems to have the magical ability to focus past infinity. Am I just being stupid and this is some random technical thing I haven't run up against before? Or is this actually just a complete fluke.
